Green Spring Valley Hounds & Hunt Club

The Green Spring Valley territory consists of about 35 miles square in Baltimore County and all of Carroll County. The home country and north country are open and rolling with great deal of grass. Some sections lying in between are rough and heavily wooded. Post-rail, coops, and board fences predominate. The east side of the country adjoins Elkridge-Harford Hunt; on the west and northwest side of the country adjoins Howard County Iron-Bridge Hunt and the Frederick county line.

Foxhall Farm Cup Team Chase 2018

Results are in from the Foxhall Farm Cup Team Chase, hosted by the Cheshire Hunt Conservancy in West Grove, Pennsylvania on Sunday, March 18, 2018. The course was a challenging one---3.5 miles, and 27 stiff Cheshire fences in hilly country. Green Spring members figure prominently in the results.

Kudos to Dan and Julie Colhoun, and Sportsman's Hall,  who's Hill Tie was on the winning fast time team from the Elkridge Harford Hunt. Team Fenwick (Amy, Daisy, and Tommy), representing both GSVH and the Mt. Carmel Hounds, came in a close second, only 35 seconds off the winning fast time of 12:05.

Green Spring members swept the top two spots in the Full Cry Cup, which is awarded to the team that comes closest to the average time of all rides on the course that day. The team of Anne Litz, Suzie Owings, and Mike Wharton occupied the top spot, coming in only 0.05 seconds slower than the average time of 16.02 . MFH Whit Foster and MFH Shockey Gillet, and their teammate Alex Fulton, backed that win up with a close second in a time of 17:43 . All in all, a very good showing for Green Spring! Full results are available at the attached hyperlink.
Under a rotating arrangement entered into in 2016, Cheshire will again host the event in 2019, and then it will go to the Elkridge Harford Hunt to be run twice. After that, it will again return to Green Spring.

Congratulations all!
