September 2020
To our Members, Friends and Staff:
Our Nation is in the midst of a pandemic that has had a serious impact on all areas of our lives. Fortunately, Maryland is moving in a positive direction along its "Roadmap to Recovery."
To enjoy our outdoor sport in a safe and responsible way, the following Guidelines have been created. These Guidelines are subject to change as conditions warrant.
Attendance & Participation
While we want to have an active club, your health and safety is our primary concern. Be sure to follow the CDC's and Maryland's Department of Health's recommendations for Covid-19 as they are updated. Use common sense and only participate in GSVH activities if you are healthy, have not been in contact with anyone experiencing symptoms, not subject to quarantine restrictions based on recent travel, etc.
Grounds & Facilities
While on Club property, everyone should maintain social distancing (6 ft) and/or wear a mask. In order to keep our Members, Staff and visitors safe, the Club's buildings will be restricted to only those who need to use them.
Stable - Access is limited to only those who have a good reason to be there (Staff, Boarders, vets, blacksmiths, vendors, etc.). Others should not enter the Stable. Staff will continue to clean high touch areas regularly.
Tack Room - Access is limited to Staff and Boarders. Boarders should only use their tack and personal equipment and keep them clean. Staff will continue to clean high touch areas regularly.
Kennels - Access is limited to Masters, Staff, vets, vendors, etc. on an as-needed basis. Staff will continue to clean high touch areas regularly.
Stamford House - the Clubhouse is closed until further notice.
Hunting Days
Please maintain social distancing and/or wear a mask while on the ground and on horseback.
Other Events
As an unfortunate but necessary precaution, we will not have social events (teas, tailgates, breakfasts, parties) until further notice. We hope to have our normally scheduled outdoor activities (Hunter Pace, Hunter Trials, Old Fashioned). Protocols for each will be communicated at an appropriate time.
Social Media
Since not everyone is knowledgeable about our sport and aware of our Covid-19 guidelines, members & friends should refrain from posting pictures on social media.
Do Your Part
Please inform friends of these Guidelines as appropriate. Also, be sure to remind anyone who is not abiding by them. We are in this together.
While we hope everyone stays healthy, please advise if you test positive for Covid-19.
