Show Season Finale - GSVH had a stellar day at the Bryn Mawr Hound Show, winning almost every class we entered.


Postman won Single Dog, unentered and Malvern was 4th.  Magnet and Marksman won the Couple of Dogs, unentered.
Jimbo '18 won the Single Dog, entered.  Niko '18 was 2nd.
Jimbo'18 and Jimmy'18 won the Couple of Dogs, entered.  Native'15 and Lambourne '18 were 2nd.
Native '15 won the George C. Clement Bowl as Best Stallion Hound.
Nomad ''14 won the Groton Hunt Trophy as Best Stallion Hound with Get, and Monitor '14 was 2nd.
Jimbo '18 was Champion Dog, winning the Nathaniel T. Clark, M.F.H Trophy, and Potter '16 was Reserve Champion.

Sammy Michel completed her Triple Crown, winning her Junior Handler division with Sapphire '18!   She had previously won at the Maryland Puppy Show and the Virginia Foxhound Show.

Poultice won Single Bitch, unentered.  Magic was 4th.
Poultice and Pollen won Couple of Bitches,unentered.  
Magic and Madeleine were 2nd.
Sapphire '18 won Single Bitch, entered.  Notice '14 was 2nd and Karma '18 was 3rd.
Bellmaid '16 and Bendigo'16  were 2nd in the entered couples class.  Wistful '17 and Widget'17 were 4th.
Willing '11 won the Hardaway Bowl as best Brood Bitch, and Pastry'14 won the Grimes-Leith Plate for Brood Bitch with two of her produce.  Willing was 3rd in that class.  
Sapphire '18 won the J.Stanley Reeve Trophy for Champion Crossbred Bitch.  Poultice was Reserve Champion.
Sapphire '18 was Champion Crossbred Hound, either sex, winning the Green Spring Valley Hounds Trophy, with Jimbo '18 Reserve Champion.

Ashley Hubbard won the Robert M. Six Memorial Trophy, given to handler who, in the opinion of the judge, best demonstrates proficiency in showing hounds in the Crossbred ring.

To cap off the day, GSVH won the Edward S. Voss MFH Trophy for the Pack Class (Best Five Couple of Hounds).

Well done to all the hounds, Ashley, Tim, Sammy and Doug for the many hours of practice and hard work that goes into successful show season!  We can't wait till August to see how the new entry will get started in the field!  

Please mark your calendars and save Tuesday, June 18th, 6 P.M.,  for our Annual Puppy Auction and a Farewell to the Michel family, as Tim heads to the Bull Run Hunt to start his new job as their Huntsman.

Did you know? Traditionally puppies are named using the first letter of the bitch’s name and the first vowel of the sire. So Poppy x Sailor might create Pastry, Passel, Parfait and Packer.
